Jellyfish Egg is a dark fantasy RPG focused on exploration, narration, and non-combat skill progression. Each run begins as a child in a procedurally generated world. As you grow older, your actions age your body and shape your skills, relationships, and aspirations. There are no saves, no retries—only a single life per journey.
Create a unique character using six core attributes, each influencing what skills you can learn, which companions you can befriend, and how long you’ll survive. The world itself is generated as a navigable sphere, featuring a wide variety of locations—forests, cities, mountain peaks, plains, coasts, and open seas—each with their own traversal challenges and opportunities for discovery.
Instead of combat, progress is made through skill checks that combine your own abilities, those of your companions, and the tools you carry. With over 300 possible non-combat skills to discover—ranging from poetry and stonework to stealth and medicine—your story unfolds through the choices you make and the paths you follow.
Narration is handled dynamically by a local language model (phi-3.5) running entirely on your machine. As you act, the game generates poetic, low-fantasy prose to describe your journey in real time, making every playthrough feel like a myth being written as you live it.
Whether you follow your character’s mysterious visions or forge your own path, Jellyfish Egg offers a singular experience shaped by curiosity, skill, and consequence.
