Description
You are a pro ninja and first time homeowner, just unpacking your things, when the underworld comes through the floorboards to stop you. Fortunately, your furniture powers you up and gives you new abilities to face the ghouls.
There are 90 placeable items in the game, ranging from kitchen appliances like fridge, oven, kitchen island, barstool, to sophisticated drawing room furniture like the chaise longue, the globe, the gramophone, and things to adorn the walls and tables. Each item has an associated effect, for example the fridge heals per hit, the table shoots a bullet on attack, the chaise longue makes enemies hit each other, and small items and wall items provide minor stat boosts like damage or health.
The placement of furniture relative to other furniture is very important, and you need to match furniture with similar furniture - for instance, the fridge likes the kitchen table, but hates the chaise longue. Furniture gets a buff/debuff, for example to the damage it deals or the health it heals you, proportional to the number of furniture it likes/dislikes adjacent. Over the course of a run, there is a huge difference in furniture carefully placed and furniture placed wherever. Happy furniture is powerful furniture, so you need to treat your furniture right.
The game plays out with alternating demon fighting and furniture arranging, two very different gameplays that come together in a strangely compelling juxtaposition. The combat rewards timing and reflex skills, whereas the decoration rewards strategy and puzzle solving. You need to master all these skills to do well.
