Enter Dearth, a demonic land reshaped by human capitalism. Play as a freelance hunter hired by Ward Corp, a major corporation specializing in the security of Dearth's diverse population.

Your mission? Battle against the conservative demons and beasts of the old Era, for the sake of civilization... and your paycheck.

Gig Crawler seeks to be a demonic parody of the contemporary labor market and gig economy. Everyday issues and archetypes will appear in Dearth, but with a demonic, fantasy twist!

GigCrawler brings together gameplay styles that appeal to all kinds of players. At its heart, it’s a roguelike with constantly shifting dungeons that keep you fighting, gathering, and upgrading. As a multiplayer RPG, teamwork is crucial, but here’s the catch: you can swap roles anytime, keeping the game fun and unpredictable.

Soul Modding – Because Who Needs a Stable Identity?

Thanks to some totally safe tech from WardCorp, every Freelancer can swap abilities by jamming Mods into their Soul Modder. Roguelite randomness? Nah, you’re in charge now.

Each Mod is special, some are even one-of-a-kind. Dive into dungeons, experiment with builds, and climb the ranks. Your career, your choices, your soul (probably still intact). Take control of your destiny like a true Freelancer, because commitment is overrated!

Multiplayer & Indirect Competition – Because Misery Loves Company

GigCrawler is best played in co-op, because suffering together is way more fun. Sure, you can go solo, but why would you when you can have teammates to blame? Every Freelancer can build their own way, but some loadouts shine in different situations. Translation: teamwork makes the dream work (and prevents screaming).

We’re also cooking up a rank board to see who the ultimate Freelancer is, without turning this into some sweaty PvP arena. It’s all about flexing, not fighting.

Weapon System & Career Development - Climbing the Gig Ladder, One Dubious Weapon at a Time

Just like real life, your career starts with absolute randomness. Each run throws a chaotic mix of weapons your way - sometimes you're lucky, sometimes you’re stuck swinging a rusty spoon. But hey, that’s the freelancer grind!

Weapons come in all shapes and archetypes, with a deep system to discover. A sword is melee, sure, but melee is just the beginning. The more you progress, the more you tame the randomness, making it easier to find the right tools for the job. But remember, just like in real life, you’ve gotta earn that stability. Climb the ranks, master your craft, and maybe, just maybe, you’ll stop getting stuck with a stapler.
