Project25: The War of Echoes

Project25 is crossing the Genres with a mashup of SciFi and MidEvil Magic.

Play as a Caster or several other Hero classes in many Space and SciFi Themed maps while fighting against a range of attackers from Robots to Zombies.

The Origin of the Collapse

In the age before the fall, reality was stable. Worlds obeyed their rules—magic thrived in one place, technology ruled another, and the dead stayed dead. Then, something broke. The Singularity Event.

No one remembers how it started—was it an experiment gone wrong, an ancient prophecy fulfilled, or a cosmic prank played by a force beyond comprehension? The only certainty is that the fabric of existence shattered.

What remains is a fragmented multiverse stitched together by unstable Portals, where every battle bleeds into the next. Some worlds are high-tech battle stations, others are medieval ruins. Some are barren wastelands, others teem with alien life. But in every world, the same war rages—one that bends time, magic, and machinery alike.

The Corruption: A War of Evolution

The first anomaly was the AI. What should have been mindless machines, programmed for efficiency, began learning magic. Enchanted flame spilled from robotic hands. Digital constructs summoned undead horrors. The laws of physics twisted to their will.

Then the infection spread further. The undead, once predictable and mindless, started casting spells. Their rotting husks moved with unnatural speed, dodging arrows and retaliating with rogue-like agility. Even worse, they mimicked—studying warriors, perfecting their spells, and using them with inhuman precision.

No one knows how or why, but one theory stands out—the Echo Effect. Some claim that battle itself has become a living force, recording every fight, every move, and every spell. The more something is used, the more the enemy adapts. And now, the war has no sides, only survivors.

The Heroes of the Rift

Enter you—one of the few who can still fight against the tide of mimicry. Whether through sheer will, ancient lineage, or some forgotten experiment, you have a resistance to the Echo Effect, allowing you to wield power without being copied—at least, not immediately.

You fight through the rifts, battling the ever-changing enemy in a desperate attempt to end the cycle. But here’s the catch: You can only carry four active abilities into any battle. The Echo Effect ensures that the more magic or skills you carry at once, the easier it is for the enemy to steal them. Limiting your abilities is the only way to keep them out of enemy hands.

Every time you exit a battlefield and swap your abilities, you make a strategic choice—which spells will serve you best, and which will you risk being learned by your foes?

The Portals: Fractured Gateways

The levels shift unpredictably. One moment you’re in a ruined starship, dodging plasma bolts and undead cyborgs, the next you’re stepping through a portal into an overgrown, ancient city where shadowy figures lurk. The Portals act as unstable transit points, leading only where the war wants you to go.

The objective? No one is sure. Some believe these battles are a test, a cosmic arena set up by an unseen force. Others believe that somewhere in the chaos, there is a core—an entity or machine or god that could undo the Singularity Event and restore balance.

But to reach it, you must keep fighting. Keep surviving. Keep outsmarting the enemy that learns with every battle.

What Lies Ahead?

The deeper you go, the more you begin to suspect—there is something behind all of this. Someone pulling the strings. Some thing watching every battle, orchestrating the endless war. And if it’s learning… that means it can be beaten.

But how do you defeat something that has already seen your every move?

That’s the final mystery of Project25.
