Set in an Iberian peninsula torn by conflict, ambition and intrigue, Crown of Hispania places you at the heart of the golden age of medieval chaos. As Christian kingdoms attempt to reclaim lands lost to the Moors, the balance of power constantly shifts between fragile alliances, fervent crusades and calculated betrayals.
As a noble of this tumultuous era, you'll have to write your own legend. Every decision, whether made on the battlefield, in the council chambers or in the shadows of a conspiracy, will shape your dynasty and determine your place in history. Will you consolidate your authority over your lands, or let your vassals tear each other apart for power? Will you take back Toledo and Granada for Christianity, or negotiate a fragile coexistence with your Muslim neighbors?
A pivotal era in medieval history: Explore the Reconquista, the clash of cultures, and the political intrigue of a period when Christians, Muslims and Jews coexisted while vying for domination of the peninsula.
Play a great house or a modest dynasty: Take the throne as king of León, Castile or Aragon, or take control of a Muslim taifa to rebuild Al-Andalus.
Diplomacy and plotting: Forge alliances, arrange strategic marriages and foil the plots of your rivals - all the while keeping an eye on your ambitious vassals.
A multicultural challenge: Manage religious and cultural tensions between Berbers, Sephardim, Mozarabs and other peoples of the region. Ensure the loyalty of your subjects while coping with external pressures.
Crusades and jihads: answer the call of the Holy Cross to repel the Moors, or fight to preserve your lands from Christian kingdoms.
Storytelling: Each game is unique, and your choices determine the fate of your family and lands in a dynamic world where nothing is set in stone.
Plunged into an era where faith, betrayal and ambition dictate the course of events, will you be able to navigate through the storms of history to establish yourself as a true ruler? Or will you become a mere footnote in the chronicles of the past?
Work in Progress.
Crown of Hispania is a grand strategy game set in the turbulent 11th-century Iberian Peninsula. You’ll start in 1035 AD, after the death of Sancho III of Navarre, with the region split between rival Christian kingdoms in the north and fragmented Muslim taifas in the south.
As a player, you’ll choose a faction and navigate the challenges of diplomacy, warfare, and religious conflict. The game features a detailed topographical map with over 300 provinces, realistic army movements, and deep cultural dynamics, including unique events like the Reconquista and the Almoravid invasions.
With a focus on historical immersion, Crown of Hispania combines strategic depth, player-driven storytelling, and a community-centric approach, allowing you to shape the fate of medieval Iberia in your own unique way.
Work in Progress : The name of the countries, and map design are not finished.
Crown of Hispania is in the PROTOTYPE development phase, which means that we started developing the game a few months ago, and are testing different ways of coding the game design. There should still be more than a year of development ahead.
We have completed a detailed topographical map with over 300 provinces, meticulously designed to reflect the diverse terrain of the Iberian Peninsula and its neighboring regions.
Here, army movements are unrestricted, allowing for dynamic strategies influenced by topography, such as mountains, rivers, and plains, which play a critical role in battles and resource distribution. Each province is unique, with its own resources, population, and strategic value, adding depth to economic and territorial management.
The core mechanics are fully designed, including advanced systems for diplomacy, cultural and religious integration, and warfare, guaranteeing a richly immersive experience. With your support, we aim to refine these elements, improve AI adaptability and deliver a game that evolves with your strategies, creating an unparalleled grand strategy experience.
