Description

This is a dark Christian-based post-apocalyptic survival card game with RPG elements, that is a retelling about the last community of Survivors (aka the ruined/ruiners), who were traveling the lands to survive and in search of a safe place from the horrors that have come upon the earth, which were born from the sins of humanity (think of the SCP, Backrooms, internet horror archive type of universe, just without the long reads and stuff).

Warning

This game will include biblical content, which some may find very controversial, sensitive, and/or offensive because of the heavy Christian views and themes. Also, this isn't just your average Christian game, it leans more on the mature side of things. Also, it's not just targeted at Christians, anyone can play if they don't mind the religious theme and the text that they might come across.

Gameplay

This is a single-player game. You will be in control of the surviving community which will wander throughout the lands trying to survive as long as possible while facing random dangerous events and encounters. Once you die it will be game over because the game is permadeath, and once you die the game will say how long you survived.

Note:Visuals are not final! The game is still in pre-alpha so the cards, mechanics, and UI are still in very early development, and what you see below are Placeholders and mockups, so the interface won't look too pretty at first, because I'm focusing on coding the mechanics first and foremost, and then the dialog/texts, and then give everything a massive revamp and beauty overhaul later. I have a decent bit coded already, been working on this for the past 7 months. Also, the lighter(Daytime) screenshots are from an old build, haven't gotten around to updating and fully implementing those yet.

Key Features

Searching/looting - When looting/searching establishments, you select the finding you want to keep and the finding you want to discard. Be careful because enemies tend to be lurking within.

Camping -  During camping, you can use the ingredients you have collected, and add them to the campfire to craft meals. The timer on the top tells you how long it's been cooking, you have to pay attention to it to know when to take it off. The recipes you find and collect will tell you how long a certain meal is supposed to take. Also, this is where you will save the game and you can only quit the game from here. So if you like to save scum, it won't really be possible with how the save system works. WARNING: DO NOT QUIT OR TURN OFF THE GAME IF YOU ARE NOT IN A CAMP. IF YOU DO, ALL YOUR PROGRESS WILL BE LOST.

Combat - During combat, the enemy moves from right to left, once the enemy lines up with a ruiner, the dice roll commences and whoever rolls the highest wins, and will be able to attack, and the enemy (if still alive) move on to the next ruiner (if there's any left). If both the ruiner and enemy roll the same number they'll tie, and no one wins and the enemy moves on to the next ruiner(if any are left).

When choosing a certain decision leads to combat. Note: This image/gif is an old build.

Misc, Collectibles, and Items - There will be many different items scattered throughout the lands, that you can interact with and use, like notes or letters that may or may not have positive or negative effects tied to them, foods to eat or use in recipes, materials to use in crafting, heals, etc,

Decision-making -In this world, you will be making decisions all the time, so you will come across events that can be beneficial or deadly to the community. Note: A dice-based system will be used to make decisions.

some of ya'll SCP fans might get the reference.

Weapon Inventory -  Where ruiners can equip their weapons. Only 2 weapons can be equipped at once to each ruiner.

Other Gameplay mechanics

These are gameplay mechanics that I'm in the middle of implementing or planning on adding, but they are subject to change.

Weather - which will affect the community, like hot weather may cause more likely dehydration.

Infection - which can infect the community and cause diseases to kill or even mutate ruiners.

Survival mechanics - Food, hunger, thirst, etc. which I'm planning on implementing, but want it to have other negative impacts rather than just drain health, and not too annoying.

Gear - Besides just weapons have gear that can give advantages like plus +10% chance to hit, take less damage, etc.

Ingredients/Recipes - Find recipes to know how to craft certain meals with certain ingredients. meals will be better than just eating individual ingredients.

Traveling - which is the core part of the game, think about how the Oregon trail game works, and how you have to face difficulties while traveling to your destination.
