■Overview
“Ghost in the Brain: Kaeru Meisekimu” is a horror game set in a world of madness, where the protagonist uses special skills to confront terrifying, otherworldly creatures.
■Story
Yoshihide Mizuno, a painter, gained fame by beautifully portraying the drowned body of his younger sister, Misao, who had died at a young age.
Although he was the one who discovered her body, one day, as he stared at his own painting, a single question surfaced in his mind:
“Was that really what I saw back then?”
Seeking the truth buried in his memories, Mizuno undergoes a treatment known as "Ultra-Deep Hypnotherapy"—a method to retrieve lost memories.
■Skills
The game features two main skills: Keyhole Peeking and Invincibility Time.
Keyhole Peeking: Allows the player to observe enemy movements through door keyholes. However, be cautious—some enemies may approach while you're peeking.
Invincibility Time: Temporarily nullifies damage. The closer an enemy is at the time of activation, the shorter the cooldown, requiring careful timing and decision-making.
■Boss Battles
The early game focuses on evasion, similar to a game of tag. However, multiple boss battles—where players can actively fight back—are introduced along the way.
These encounters offer a release from built-up tension and frustration, providing a strong sense of achievement.
■A Truly “Unreal” Dream World
Giant-eyed monsters.
Moving drowned body.
Butterfly specimens with girls' heads.
Arowanas swimming through the air...
While evading these threats, players must collect fragments of memory scattered throughout the dream world. (More enemy types may be added depending on the developer’s energy level.)
The stages intentionally lack consistency, mimicking a dreamscape stitched together from fragmented memories.
